Volume I no. 1 issue of first Arcadia newspaper, THE ARCADIA BULLETIN. Paper included an article on the opening of Clara Villa which opened May 3, 1904. The paper has photos of five members of the Board of Trustees (now City Council) and also one of Arcadia's first City Marshall, Elmer Anderson and his brother, Charles Anderson, City Treasurer.

Copied from a newspaper clipping, so quality is not good. Photo shows an unidentified lady in long dress standing beside auto (c. 1935) in front of 104 N. First Ave. At this time this building housed the Arcadia Tribune. Small house seen at right edge of photo is 100 N. First which was built in 1919 by Dr. Fletcher Sanborn.

Bonita Hotel -- Built in 1890 on what is now the corner of Wheeler Street and First Avenue, this "hotel and bar" prospered after the Oakwood Hotel was destroyed by fire. It is no longer standing.

View along driveway of 20 Bonita Street, then the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Hutchinson. One of the largest oak trees in the city at this time was in the center of the drive. As of 1980, there was an apartment building located there.
Three tally-hos are seen parked in front of the Oakwood Hotel. Sign on the front of the hotel reads BALDWIN'S HOTEL OAKWOOD. The middle tally-ho has a white horse. There are people sitting in the tally-hos and one man standing at the rear of the middle tally-ho.
One carriage and two tally hos are stopped in front of Oakwood Hotel. About 18 people are seated in the conveyances. White horses hitched to middle tally ho, have white plumes fixed to their harness. Sign above reads: Hotel Oakwood - Entrance to Fairyland. On the bottom of photo is printed: Baldwin's Ranch, Arcadia, Cal.
