Families of 13 Alzheimer's disease patients filed a class action law suit to order the government to approve the drug THA. Dr. William Summers of Arcadia was the first to report that THA was effective against Alzheimer's disease 5 years ago.

Arcadia resident Dr. William Summers first reported that THA was beneficial to Alzheimer's patients in 1986 in an article in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The Arcadia Police Dept. will receive $1,227,823 of a total of $12 million for its part in the largest drug bust in history at a Sylmar warehouse last September.
