Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin Ranch dairy buildings. These have been located for the library by Reid Greer as just west of Tallac Knoll and later were purchased and operated by Supreme Dairy.
Photo taken from Arcadia Tribune issue of August 3, 1950 that shows Elias J."Lucky" Baldwin standing in front of Queen Anne Cottage with H.H. Cross, an artist who painted a number of important pictures of the Baldwin Ranch. Hal Roach, editor of Arcadia Tribune at this time, does not remember who brought original photo to them.
Two women are seated on chairs with Edna Lenz standing directly behind them. Six other people are seen in background at dedication of Santa Anita Depot after it had been relocated to the Arboretum. Seated at left is Dextra Baldwin Hopper, great granddaughter of E. J. "Lucky" Baldwin (daughter of Baldwin M. Baldwin). Seated at right is Rozella Baldwin Gilmore, an illegitimate daughter of E. J. "Lucky" Baldwin. Her mother was Martha Agnes Fowler, who was acknowledged in Baldwin's will.
Rowing on the lake in a boat named CLARA are Clara Baldwin Stocker (second from right), Lucky Baldwin's elder daughter; Clara's fourth husband, Harold Stocker (rowing); and several friends. A copy of this photo appears in the March 2, 1909 Los Angeles Daily Times pt.II p.8 with the following identification: FAMILY GROUP ON THE LAKE AT SANTA ANITA. Left to right, in boat - Mr. Mathews, Mrs. F.D. Black, Mr. Stocker ("Lucky's son-in-law), Mrs. H.C. Wyatt, in white; Mrs. Stocker (Lucky's daughter) and Mrs. Scott. There are 16 other people in photo; some are mounted on horses, some standing. Etched on the photo is "On the track - Lucky Baldwins Place. S.G.V.R.R."

Clara Baldwin Stocker standing in front of a house. A covered porch area on both sides of the house is built around a large tree. There is a sign above the window behind Clara which reads, "BALDWIN." Possibly Lucky Baldwin's house in Lake Tahoe.
Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin on left and Richard F. Carman Sr., one of America's early horsemen. Photo was taken probably about 1907 and printed in newspaper of March 1937 at the time of Carman's death. Carman's horses won four races and placed second in two others on opening day of Baldwin's Santa Anita Race Track.
