Peacock with its feathers spread is seen on what is thought to be Pig Hill, part of Tallac Knoll where Anita Baldwin kept her pigs. There is a fence behind the peacock and a number of pigs visible.
Photographic reproduction of full two-page spread appearing in the February 28, 1938 issue of Life Magazine. Photo shows men on horses with swords, appearing to be fighting a battle. Caption indicates it was taken during filming of the movie OF HUMAN HEARTS. Information found with the original indicates that the filming took place at the Arboretum.

Clara Baldwin Stocker's home on the north side of Foothill Blvd. between Baldwin and Santa Anita. Two stone pillars with light fixtures on top are visible on either side of the driveway. Handwritten note on bottom left of photo reads, "Oaks 1915".
Six men are seen standing in a group. L-R:Los Angeles County Supervisor John Anson Ford, Superintendent William A. Smith, Superintendent Raymond V. Darby (Chairman), F. Wesley Davies (Manager Rancho Santa Anita, Inc.), and Superintendent Leonard J. Roach. Davies is seen handing deed to 111-acre tract of historic Rancho Santa Anita to Superintendent Darby. This was to be developed into the Arboretum.
Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin Ranch dairy buildings. These have been located for the library by Reid Greer as just west of Tallac Knoll and later were purchased and operated by Supreme Dairy.

Lovely lane lined on both sides with tall Lombardy Poplars. Man in light buggy is seen driving on the lane, away from camera. From the magazine Outing. According to Sandy Snider from the Arboretum, this lane was to the east of Old Ranch Road in early days of Ranch under Baldwin ownership.
Charles B. Eaton is shown standing with what appear to be six employees. Four men are dressed in white with tall white chef hats. Two women stand on either side of him.
