Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin in buggy hitched to a dark horse. Baldwin is figure on left. Seated next to him is W. McClelland who was Baldwin's horse trainer at this time. This was taken at Baldwin's training track which was adjacent to present Michillinda near Colorado Boulevard. Etched on photo is: "E.J. Baldwin and J. McClelland on the track - Santa Anieta." (Anieta is misspelled and should be Anita.)

Left to right, in boat - Mr. Mathews, Mrs. F.D. Black, Mr. Stocker ("Lucky's son-in-law), Mrs. H.C. Wyatt, in white; Mrs. Stocker (Lucky's daughter) and Mrs. Scott. Girl Scout Amy Nunn, 15, is the youngest recipient of the Gold Award, the highest achievement of the Sierra Madre Girl Scout Council. She collected almost $6000 at a canned food drive at Santa Anita Church for the Arcadia Welfare and Thrift Shop.
Hugo Reid Adobe as it appeared in 1903. This photo shows it to have been what appears to be wooden siding and shingle roof with wide porch as altered by E.J. "Lucky" Baldwin.
Volume I no. 1 issue of first Arcadia newspaper, THE ARCADIA BULLETIN. Paper included an article on the opening of Clara Villa which opened May 3, 1904. The paper has photos of five members of the Board of Trustees (now City Council) and also one of Arcadia's first City Marshall, Elmer Anderson and his brother, Charles Anderson, City Treasurer.

Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin on left and Richard F. Carman Sr., one of America's early horsemen. Photo was taken probably about 1907 and printed in newspaper of March 1937 at the time of Carman's death. Carman's horses won four races and placed second in two others on opening day of Baldwin's Santa Anita Race Track.
