The lake is famous from the television show Fantasy Island. The last time Baldwin Lake was dry was 1991.

Baldwin Ranch greenhouse located south of the Adobe, is pictured behind a row of whitewashed granite boulders. By 1905, these boulders lined all interior ranch roads. Baldwin's initials, E.J.B., are lettered in stone in front of the greenhouse.

Grass-sheathed homes of Indians on Rancho. Patron Reid Greer identifies this hill as just above east parking area. He points out that the tree showing in photo #628 is same as large one in flat area. Sandy Snider at Arboretum read in early newspaper that Baldwin found on the property when he bought it, "an old adobe house and Indians living in native-made homes." Why are fewer migratory birds visiting Arcadia’s Baldwin Lake at the Arboretum? The lake could see great benefit from Proposition 3 and Measure W. Audobon Society birders say there used to be approximately 330 species of migratory birds landing each winter at Baldwin Lake. In recent years that number has dwindled to about 200 species, such that the lake, which is in dire need of dredging and major ecological rehabilitation, is the focus of much debate. The lake has a low algae problem in the winter, not enough oxygen, and lots of sediment. The silt and organic matter has contributed to the shallow levels.

Los Angeles County Arboretum and Baldwin family push to revive Baldwin Lake. The 4-acre lake in the middle of the Arboretum stands polluted, filled with tons of mud and filth from years of urban runoff. Tony Zampiello, executive officer of the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster, along with the county's Department of Parks and Recreation, have formed a task force with goal of dredging the old lake built by Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin in the late 19th century. Margaux Viera, Baldwin's great-great-great granddaughter, a member of the "Save Baldwin Lake" task force, says the shoreline around the lake is collapsing and eroding. Construction begins on Anoakia luxury housing development, on the former site of Anoakia, Anita Baldwin's mansion, on the corner of Baldwin Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia. The Anoakia Mansion was demolished last August to make way for 31 homes to be built by Hover Development Inc. of Newport Beach. Anita Baldwin, daughter of Lucky Baldwin, lived there until her death in 1939. It was used as a girls' school from 1941 to the late 1970s. The new housing development is 19 acres.

Workman is seen adding carved detailing to railing on top floor of Santa Anita Santa Fe Station as it is rebuilt on grounds of Arboretum. Station was "rescued" from path of Foothill Freeway and relocated at Arboretum.

Baldwin Ranch greenhouse located south of the Adobe, is pictured behind a row of whitewashed granite boulders. By 1905, these boulders lined all interior ranch roads. Baldwin's initials, E.J.B., are lettered in stone in front of the greenhouse.

Image of Santa Anita School by Edwards Photography. The school was located at 1900 South Santa Anita Avenue from about 1950 until June, 1981. In 1982, Arcadia Christian School moved in to this location.
