Other people are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Spickler, as identified in Arcadia Tribune article on January 22, 1976. Mr. Spickler was committee chairman for Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association benefit party held at Anoakia Saturday, January 31, 1976. Flamingo Hotel/Motel at 130 W. Huntington, built about 1956 or 1957. Part of Ramada Inn chain. Before it was the Flamingo, the Pony Express Museum was at this address. The Flamingo Hotel (Ramada) stayed here 1955-c. 1984. It reopened as the Santa Anita Inn on February 8, 1986. On the same site, the Le Meridien Hotel, part of the Marriott chain, broke ground in June 2018 and opened in 2021.

Serbian Orthodox Church of Christ the Savior at 1424 S. Baldwin Avenue. This congregation bought property from the American Lutheran Church (later became Lutheran Church of the Cross) in 1963. View is taken from west side of Baldwin, facing entrance. Note 9-17-2008: The 1963 date of sale is not certain as the 1964-65 city directory has the Lutheran Church of the Cross still occupying 1424 S. Baldwin Avenue. Lutheran Church of the Cross moved into a new building in June, 1965 according to item #15 in the Arcadia - Churches VF, so the building may have changed hands in 1965 - (Yvonne Ng).

Santa Anita School Mrs. Fleck's first grade classroom photo by Edwards Photography (from the envelope which has been discarded). Top Row: second from left is Kathy Pounds. The school was located at 1900 South Santa Anita Avenue from about 1950 until June, 1981. In 1982, Arcadia Christian School moved in to this location. Extra 2"x3" photo of Kathy Pounds attached.

This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.
