Charles Francis Earl is seen standing next to a tractor, holding his young son, William Earl. Behind the Earl's is the vacant lot Mr. Earl purchased in the mid 1930s when it was a hayfield. The vacant lot as seen in this photo is shortly before construction began on their home in late 1951 and early 1952. When constructed, the address was 1050 Paloma Drive. See also Photo #1634.
Lowry McCaslin, on right, stands before fireplace in dining room at Anoakia, which Mr. McCaslin has owned since the mid 1940's. Other people are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Spickler, as identified in Arcadia Tribune article on January 22, 1976. Mr. Spickler was committee chairman for Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association benefit party held at Anoakia Saturday, January 31, 1976. Home at 1050 Paloma Drive is under construction. There is a car parked across the street. This home was built and owned by the Charles Francis Earl family. Construction began in late 1951, completed in early 1952. See also photo #1633.
Unknown buisiness building at 34 or 36 E. Foothill Blvd. In 1948 City Directory, #34 is listed as H. & H. Auto Service. Also shown is Red Spot Liquors.
Mayor Martin H. Ormsby on left; City Treasurer, Emma Hainer seated, at center; and City Clerk, Clint Billig, on right are seen in Mrs. Hainer's office in City Hall at First Street and Huntington Drive. Note round wall safe next to her desk. Daughter, Alberta Fluke remembers that the Arcadia Public Library could be seen to the north out of this window.

Stone house at 58 W. Grandview. Small girl in foreground possibly Dextra Baldwin. Anita Baldwin purchased 22 acres of her father's land for $10.00 on March 8, 1892. (see Arcadia VF-Baldwin, Anita) Anita's father built stone cottage in May 1902 on lot 7 and part of lots 8&9 in block 98 of Santa Anita Tract. (This information came from Mrs. Sharlene Cartier, who owned the house in 1973.)
