Left to right, in boat - Mr. Mathews, Mrs. F.D. Black, Mr. Stocker ("Lucky's son-in-law), Mrs. H.C. Wyatt, in white; Mrs. Stocker (Lucky's daughter) and Mrs. Scott. Brown shingled house with granite stone chimney and unique floor to ceiling windows by front entry. Brick terrace forms entry. Word persists from people in the area, that house was built by a former Cabinet Officer. A title search was done on the house for us in 1975: the one name on list of owners that is a possibility is MELLON. (In article written by Claire Charles and numbered #4 in Arcadia-Peacocks, on p.23, top of page, she mentions Annie Mellon as living in this house.) Address if 330 E. Duarte Rd. Built c. 1913.

This negative, 983A, has the title page of the brochure and also a "Birdseye view of Arcadia and Santa Anita Tract," 1887.

This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.

The offices here closed on April 4, 2014 and this building was demolished on July 7, 2014. The school district offices moved to a new location at 150 S. 3rd Avenue on April 4, 2014 and then opened to the public on April 14, 2014.
