The school was located at 1900 South Santa Anita Avenue from about 1950 until June, 1981. In 1982, Arcadia Christian School moved in to this location. "Flash Gordon," Arcadia's float entry in the 1973 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, depicted the late 1930's space travel and adventure series. Evil Ming of planet Mongo manipulates controls of Doomsday machine. Flash Gordon is featured. Coleman Enterprises, Inc.
"A Garden of Roses," Arcadia's float entry in the 1974 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, features a romantic formal rose garden with two gracefully arched flowered trees at the front. In the center is a floral fountain. In the rear is a white floral bird cage. Coleman Enterprises, Inc.
Home (at right side of photo) and business building owned by Dr. and Mrs. Fletcher G. Sanborn. Home was at 100 N. First and contained the doctor's office for his practice. The office block contained the numbers 102-104 N. First Ave. Photo was taken shortly after completion.
Lowry McCaslin, on right, stands before fireplace in dining room at Anoakia, which Mr. McCaslin has owned since the mid 1940's. Other people are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Spickler, as identified in Arcadia Tribune article on January 22, 1976. Mr. Spickler was committee chairman for Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association benefit party held at Anoakia Saturday, January 31, 1976. Stone house at 58 W. Grandview. Small girl in foreground possibly Dextra Baldwin. Anita Baldwin purchased 22 acres of her father's land for $10.00 on March 8, 1892. (see Arcadia VF-Baldwin, Anita) Anita's father built stone cottage in May 1902 on lot 7 and part of lots 8&9 in block 98 of Santa Anita Tract. (This information came from Mrs. Sharlene Cartier, who owned the house in 1973.)
