Golden Eyes, the controversial nude juice bar which calls itself an "upscale gentlemen's club," opened wednesday without fanfare in an industrial section of southeast Arcadia.
The nude juice bar nearing completion at 1580 Clark Street asked for changes in the adult entertainment ordinance which requires the six-foot separation between dancers and customers.
An ordinance has been adopted to regulate adult entertainment facilities as Arcadia faces the opening of a juice bar/alcohol free nude dancing club planned for 1580 Clark Street. A possible lawsuit was planned if the City denied the business from opening.
The Reverand Roger Sonnenberg of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Arcadia led an Easter sunrise service Sunday at Wilderness Park. The outdoor service has been an annual tradition for more than 40 years.
Arcadia residents will select three trustees today. Running for the Board of Education are challengers Roger Sonnenberg, Fred Peritore and Daniel Haste. Incumbents are James Romo, John McClain and Maryann Gibson.
Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin, the former Vice Presidential candidate in the 2008 presidential elections, came to speak at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Arcadia for "Lovefest 9," an annual 2-day church event that focuses on teens and values. Her message was about abstinence.
Six candidates will vie for three spots on the school board in the April 15 election. Incumbent school board members Maryann Gibson, John McClain, and James Romo, will run for re-election. Also running are Fred Peritore, Daniel Haste, and Roger Sonnenberg.
