Home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bertolina. It was originally located on California (a street which at this time was 3 blocks south of Duarte Road). It washed off its foundation and was then moved to NW corner of 2nd and Alta. There are broad front steps and stone foundation seen in photo.
Elks barbecue (or Mason's) held at "Y" at Colorado Place and Huntington Drive. Man in middle is Leo Charles Bertolina. Donor wrote on back of original:"Note Baldwin caretaker in right background." (We do not see him.) Large roasting pits covered to keep heat in, are seen in the foreground.

Dorothy Cunningham, born 1919, is a long-time Arcadia resident. She wrote the social column in the Arcadia Tribune for about 20 years. In this photo, she is probably about age 95. Dorothy was from Whidbey Island, WA and lived in Arcadia for at least 55 years. She worked as a nurse practitioner. Then, she wrote a column for the Arcadia Tribune for 22 years after a council person asked her to write it. She quit the column at age 90.

These two long buildings appear to be buildings at the Balloon School. They have been left from the time that "Lucky" Baldwin's Santa Anita Race Track was on this site. There is considerable snow on San Gabriel Mountains behind.
Interior of Pony Express Museum, collections. View very similar to Item ID 455, but apparently at a different time. While row of trunks in center of long room are the same, displays on either side are different. On far wall in this photo is a sign reading Jamestown.
Looking north up Santa Anita Ave near its intersection with Orange Grove Avenue. Note it is still a dirt road at this time. There is a young lady with long two-piece suit with a sailor collar (back to camera) and farther up the Avenue, a man is seen.

Arcadia Presbyterian Church at NE corner of First and Alice Streets prior to building new sanctuary in early 1970's. (Discrepancy in date of "c.1965." Per Teri Weeks, a long-time church member, this church building was torn down in 1961 and new sanctuary was built in 1962, so this photo was probably 1950s.
