This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.

Home (at right side of photo) and business building owned by Dr. and Mrs. Fletcher G. Sanborn. Home was at 100 N. First and contained the doctor's office for his practice. The office block contained the numbers 102-104 N. First Ave. Photo was taken shortly after completion.

A copy of this photo appears in the March 2, 1909 Los Angeles Daily Times pt.II p.8 with the following identification: FAMILY GROUP ON THE LAKE AT SANTA ANITA. Left to right, in boat - Mr. Mathews, Mrs. F.D. Black, Mr. Stocker ("Lucky's son-in-law), Mrs. H.C. Wyatt, in white; Mrs. Stocker (Lucky's daughter) and Mrs. Scott. There are seven people seated in the boat, but only six names are identified in the newspaper article. Article is in Arcadia History file Baldwin, Elias J. Stone house at 58 W. Grandview. Small girl in foreground possibly Dextra Baldwin. Anita Baldwin purchased 22 acres of her father's land for $10.00 on March 8, 1892. (see Arcadia VF-Baldwin, Anita) Anita's father built stone cottage in May 1902 on lot 7 and part of lots 8&9 in block 98 of Santa Anita Tract. (This information came from Mrs. Sharlene Cartier, who owned the house in 1973.)

Three children stand on lawn in front of white clapboard house rented by William Kreutzkamp family. The children are, L-R: William Kreutzkamp, Jr.; Laura Kreutzkamp; and Charles Kreutzkamp. House was first house on NE corner of First and LaPorte Street and had front door on First Avenue. Mr. Kreutzkamp was station agent at Arcadia Santa Fe Station from 1909-1915.

These people identified: extreme left, John McWilliams, driver and owner; Sammy Wilson in big hat; Ben Crews (pharmacist whose daughter was a Monrovia librarian), Archie Wiggins, in apron. (note: Donkey would pull the car up the hill and when it made the run back down Myrtle, donkey would stand on a platform at back of car and ride down.)
