A Japanese family (child, mother, father) pictured by small house they lived in on Harry Ainsworth Ranch which was just east of intersection of Santa Anita and Orange Grove Ave. The father was the head gardener for Ainsworth. Name unknown.
Home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bertolina. It was originally located on California (a street which at this time was 3 blocks south of Duarte Road). It washed off its foundation and was then moved to NW corner of 2nd and Alta. There are broad front steps and stone foundation seen in photo.

Arcadia's First House -- Built in 1880 by O.D. Harris on what is now the corner of Colorado Boulevard at Santa Anita Avenue, this was reportedly Arcadia's first house. The initial meeting of the Arcadia Board of Trade was held here in 1914. The house was torn down in the 1950s.

This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.
