32. "Arcadia to proceed with Peacock Corner." Article stating that the City Council voted to put up $25,000 towards the cost of putting a 10-foot-tall bronze peacock at Peacock Corner. The sculpture will emerge from the center of the fountain that has been refurbished by volunteers and was unveiled at the Lucky Baldwin Day Picnic. A day after the Arcadia County Park was closed for sending people exposed to excess chlorine to the hospital, the pool remained closed yesterday while Los Angeles County supervisors ordered a top-down safety review for all 27 county pools. The Arcadia pool will remain closed until the problem can be fixed to ensure public safety.
