Arcadia police continue to heavily ticket cars that frequent the area around the Burger Palace on Thursday nights in an attempt to curb drag racing and curtail other potential problems. Since July 8, 202 tickets have been issued.
Dale Hushaw, owner-operator of Palace Cleaners is Arcadia, discusses his efforts in the 1960's to educate the Russians to the business of dry cleaning. Hushaw made 4 trips to Russia, helping the Russians build and operate a dry cleaning plant.
An application to construct a Burger King Restaurant on South Santa Anita Avenue at Alice Street was turned down by the Arcadia Planning Commission on a 4-1 vote. Commission members said they were concerned with noise and traffic problems. Residents also objected to the possibility that students from Arcadia High would congregate and make noise at the restaurant following evening sporting events.

Two Arcadia homes used for indoor marijuana growing operations. Warrants were served and arrests were made in the 1800 block of South Baldwin Avenue and the 300 block of West Woodruff. A third house, on the 2700 block of Gilpin Way, was discovered to be an indoor marijuana cultivation house, too.

Monrovia man David King Brewster has been charged with attempted murder of a peace officer, as he became combative and began fighting with two Arcadia police officers for no apparent reason, on July 6, 2015 in the 400 block of East Huntington Drive. Brewster may have been under the influence of a controlled substance. He punched one officer in the face and choked the other officer in an attempt to use cause serious or fatal injury to him.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. has opened a new restaurant at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia, on the second story of Promenade Shops near Macy's. Red Robin is known for their "bottomless steak fries."
