A man dressed in woman's clothing, Rudolfo Anderson, was arrested by the Arcadia police after he carjacked a Honda Accord at the Santa Anita YMCA in Monrovia and collided with an automobile at First Avenue and Floral.
22-year-old Miguel Fernandez of Arcadia was thrown from the back of a pickup truck and killed when the truck careened out of control and flipped upside down at the intersection of Del Mar Boulevard and Hill Avenue.
Christopher Carl Eastland was killed when his disabled car was struck by a Jeep driven by an alleged drunk driver on the eastbound Foothill Freeway (210).
73-year-old Jesus Plasencia Lopez from El Monte has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run. He allegedly drove a Saturn that hit Guey-Ying Wu and her husband Chia Wu at Santa Anita Avenue and Camino Real Avenue in Arcadia. Lopez is being held at Los Angeles County Jail on $50,000 bail.
When her brakes failed, a woman decided to hit a wall under construction at a Ralphs supermarket rather than plow into vehicles in front of her on Sunset Avenue. No name is given.

A wrongful death lawsuit against Bridgestone-Firestone Company has been filed by an Arcadia family in the death of Robert Kloss and Victoria Kapitan in a rollover accident on the 210 Freeway. The deaths were linked to faulty tires.
The family of John Chan, the 44-year-old Arcadian who was killed by Lisa Welchert in a drunk driving traffic accident, filed a claim against the City because they feel the police officers left Welchert apparently passed out in her car and returned to their patrol cars, allowing her to escape from the police in her automobile.

Survivors of a bus crash on Santa Anita Avenue that happened 50 years ago, on July 14, 1959, recall the accident. The bus had been carrying a group of boys from a Catholic summer camp at Chantry Flat. Brakes failed coming down the steep grade of Santa Anita Avenue. The crash killed 3-year-old Cory Matson.
