Mrs. Irene Wiley was freed on the charge that she was wilfully cruel to her 13-year-old daughter Susan Wiley, aka "Genie." The article was written by Lucie Lowery. "Captive Girl" Susan (aka 'Genie') Wiley's father Clark Wiley committed suicide. Clark Wiley shot himself minutes before he was to have appeared in Alhambra Municipal Court on charges of child abuse.
