A tile tapestry was unveiled on the northwest wall of the Arcadia Public Library on Friday, April 8, 2005. More than 200 individual tiles were painted by the public to depict life in Arcadia. A photo is included.
A bus shelter will be built on the west side of the Arcadia Public Library. The shelter will be Arcadia Transit's bus stop. Benches and forty trees will be added.

At 1:53 PM on April 6, 2004, Arcadia Police Department officers descended on the Arcadia Public Library and arrested two men. One of the two men was seen passing a loaded gun to the other. Librarian Debbie Marks' coments on the incident are included. The men were Trevor Kuk, 21, of Arcadia and Enrique Ayala, 24, of Duarte.

Former Arcadia police lieutenant Kenneth Kuwahara, 40, entered his plea of guilty to false personation and identity theft, both felonies, and four misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. City administrators and negotiators for the Arcadia Police Department have not yet reached a contract agreement. Officers want an immediate 10% raise for the first year and 4% increases the second and third years. City council has offered salaries that would make Arcadia police the second or third highest paid in cities surveyed.
