After lengthy discussion, the council members, on a 3-1 vote, agreed that a soils study could be postponed until after submission of the final EIR.

Methodist Hospital of Southern California's current major capital building project, construction of a new surgical unit and outpatient services center in Arcadia, has received a $60,000, 5-year grant from the Security Pacific Foundation. Although Arcadia students slipped in their 1983-84 California Assessment Program scores compared to their own performance last year, they still scored well above the average compared to schools statewide.
