View NE across enormous warehouse nearing completion on infield area of track at Santa Anita Assembly Center. Houses seen across top of warehouse would be in what was called Santa Anita Gardens area. Santa Anita Dam can be faintly seen in prominent fold of the mountains. This photo, together with photo #653, forms a panorama.
"On the Air," a combined Arcadia-Monrovia float entry in the 1940 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, featured a floral radio. Ten people rode on the float.

Spring plowing on Baldwin Ranch. Shows 8 horses and 6 men. Land is very flat. What appear to be eucalyptus show all across back of photo. Same as Photo ID 11.
About 12 girls in white are seen walking across the lawn at front of First Avenue School (Arcadia Grammar School at this time, 1935). They have garlands of flowers over their shoulders to commemorate their graduation from 8th grade. Photo is also interesting because construction scaffolding is across front of school.
"Magical Moments," Arcadia's float entry in the 1987 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, features a gigantic top hat from which a magic rabbit rises to a height of 30 feet. The Arcadia Rose Court rides on the float.

Small Spanish-style home. Address, at the time of the photo (1927) was 2747 Olive Street in Temple City. Numbers on Olive Street were changed and same house in 1980 has street number of 10159. This was girlhood home of Vera Van Houten and her family. The children went all the way through Arcadia schools as this home was in Arcadia School District.
