Small Spanish-style home. Address, at the time of the photo (1927) was 2747 Olive Street in Temple City. Numbers on Olive Street were changed and same house in 1980 has street number of 10159. This was girlhood home of Vera Van Houten and her family. The children went all the way through Arcadia schools as this home was in Arcadia School District.

Chapel Inn (Duarte) -- Built in 1896 of rock construction, this chapel, located on what is now Highway 66 in Duarte, is said to be the third oldest Episcopal church building in California. In 1927 it was deconsecrated and purchased by Clarence Gordon who converted it into a restaurant that became famous for its "excellent food served in a quiet, old-world setting". The building has been torn down.

Thatched conical shaped roadside fruit stand with the name SLEMONS' ORANGE WIGWAM,ARCADIA,CALIF. According to 1930 City Directory, it was located at 141 E. Foothill Boulevard. (McDonalds address in 1993 is 143 E. Foothill.) Owner was James B. Slemons. Two people can be seen standing near entrance.
