Two pharmacies were burglarized in what appeared to be related crimes. Both Colonial Pharmacy and Live Oak Pharmacy had windows smashed with narcotics being stolen at the Live Oak Pharmacy.

The Arcadia Beautiful Commission intends to recommend that Holly Avenue School be submitted for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The city's oldest school building, Holly Avenue, built in 1927, is an example of the Spanish Colonial Revival Style.

Maria C. Martinez, a former employee of a Rite-Aid store in Arcadia, was awarded $3.4 million by a jury, which found she was discriminated against because of a medical disability and for complaining that a company manager sexually harassed her.

The City Council reviewed the general plan which was revised in December 1990, the first revision since the 1970's. This was the first time the City reviewed its progress in meeting the new plan's goals.
