A framed copy of this removed from wall outside Admin. office and currently stored in map case in basement, as of February 2017.
Left to right: Mrs. John Panatier, Mrs. Lucas, Mrs. Mary Turner. Mrs. Panatier and Mrs. Lucas are wearing dresses as they run. This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.
Aerial view looking west over Santa Anita Park. Photo was taken from about over intersection of Colorado Place and Huntington Drive. Note area that was to become Los Angeles County Arboretum across top of photo. Note an open Grandstand has been added to the west of original covered one. There is a small dirigible in lower right corner carrying a sign that seems to read:modern motel. Present Baldwin Avenue would run where road in this photo is seen parallel to top of photo.
Baggage cart with 2 suitcases standing beside completely restored Santa Anita Santa Fe Station at location on grounds of Arboretum, where it was moved.
View south across lawn (with fountain in right foreground) toward 2 storied home of Erik Amalienborg or Prince Eric, brother of King of Denmark. He built this home in late 1920s at 2607 S. Santa Anita Ave. and went into business raising chickens. Building is now on grounds of Arcadia Congregational Church and is still (as of 1980) much as it is pictured here; it is used by the church for various purposes.
Only photo in Library Collection showing Free balloon training at Ross Field (all other are fixed). Balloon is some distance off the ground and displays an American flag on the right side.
Eight people standing or mounted on mule in front of large American flag which is hanging from a wire. Group apparently was on an excursion to Mt. Wilson. The three men on the right are all identified as McCoys across the face of the photo.
View from near west end of Arcadia Public Library at 20 W. Duarte Road. Looking east; Santa Anita Avenue is along lawn, extreme left edge of photo where the 2 conifers appear. One man walking from main entrance.
The Queen Anne Cottage is seen from across the lake, with a reflection of the cottage in the lake. Cottage was used by Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin. Currently on the grounds of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Original fiberboard print. Caption reads "Views of Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley, E. A.
