Two Arcadia homes found by Arcadia Police Department to be used for indoor marijuana growing operations in the 1800 block of South Baldwin Avenue and the 300 block of West Woodruff Avenue. Gao Ming, 46-year-old male from Arcadia, Jia Hui Shen, 27-year-old male from El Monte, and Lan Lau, a 34-year-old female from Arcadia, were arrested and booked at Arcadia City Jail.

The first one was at Monkey Bar at Westfield Santa Anita mall, January 9. Pop-Up mixers are not advertised in advance, instead information is posted through social media within days of the event. 41-year-old female Xiaolin Li, a resident of Arcadia, was stabbed and murdered on January 7, 2014 at an apartment in the 900 block of Arcadia Avenue. The arrested suspect was identified as the victim's father-in-law Li Zhu, a 68-year-old resident of Arcadia. The motive appears to be related to an on-going dispute within the family. The victim and suspect resided together.

Some members of Arcadia Christian Academy's boys basketball team acted as heroes after a 65 year-old woman lost control of her Mercedes and ran it through a group of children and adults in Eagle Rock, where the team attended a game. The boys ran to the scene and helped lift the car off two children and an adult. There were no fatalities.
