Arroyo High School (El Monte) assistant coach of the junior varsity softball team Raymond Daniel Yniquez, 21, of Pomona, died in a car crash on Live Oak Avenue near Las Tunas Drive, along with two others dead.
Friends of the victims of a car crash that killed 3 when their car hit a wall and overturned at Live Oak Avenue and Las Tunas Drive, said they had been at a Pasadena bar before the accident.
A 37-year old Los Angeles man died early Saturday morning after exiting the Foothill Freeway (210) at Baldwin Avenue driving through a perimeter fence and smashing into a concrete wall.
A passenger (name withheld pending notification to next of kin) in a stolen vehicle was killed and another hurt yesterday following a pursuit by Arcadia police. Richard John Villareal, 28, of Arcadia, and his male passenger led Arcadia police on a chase that ended about 11:40 AM on Lower Azusa Road and Arden Drive in Temple City when the stolen car crashed into two other vehicles. Duarte Road, from El Monte Avenue to the western city limits, will have utility lines placed underground. The cost will be $2.3 million. The issue of undergrounding utilities came up during the January windstorm, when nearly 30 power poles were knocked down on Live Oak Avenue.
A 16-year old boy was in custody Saturday after leading Irwindale police on a chase in a stolen car that ended when his vehicle collided with another car, killing its driver, 32-year-old Michael Lam of Monterey Park.
Two passengers hurt in bus stabbing inside a Foothill Transit bus on October 31, shortly after 6:00 PM. The bus was on Live Oak Avenue, west of Myrtle Avenue, in unincorporated county area near Arcadia. Nicholas Patito, 51, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The two sounded male passengers, age 54 and age 24, have non-life threatening injuries.
