Charles Francis Earl is seen standing next to a tractor, holding his young son, William Earl. Behind the Earl's is the vacant lot Mr. Earl purchased in the mid 1930s when it was a hayfield. The vacant lot as seen in this photo is shortly before construction began on their home in late 1951 and early 1952. When constructed, the address was 1050 Paloma Drive. See also Photo #1634.

Home at 1050 Paloma Drive is under construction. There is a car parked across the street. This home was built and owned by the Charles Francis Earl family. Construction began in late 1951, completed in early 1952. See also photo #1633.

Left to right, in boat - Mr. Mathews, Mrs. F.D. Black, Mr. Stocker ("Lucky's son-in-law), Mrs. H.C. Wyatt, in white; Mrs. Stocker (Lucky's daughter) and Mrs. Scott. White Oak Service Station located on SW corner of Foothill Boulevard and Santa Anita Avenue. View probably is looking east across Santa Anita toward large barn that must have been on southeast corner. Owner Emil Bolz is pictured standing in front of his station. He not only sold auto products but ice cream, tobaccos, cold drinks, etc. The address listed in 1928 City Directory is 2 W. Foothill.

This photograph was published in the Arcadia Tribune, August 20, 1956 with the caption: Here comes mama--By all indications from this picture, it looks as if the children weren't the only ones who were having a good time at the recent Arcadia Recreation Department city-wide track meet. The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.
