View west, probably from a point about 1/4 mile west of Rosemead, on what is presently Huntington Drive. Street is dirt. There are railroad tracks along the right belonging to San Gabriel Railroad. There is a row of white power poles along side of tracks.
View from center of circulation area to wall which holds new fiction and new nonfiction books. Door on left leads to Conference Room. One man is seen browsing at shelves.

Another view of "Smoot Hole" before cleaning up and just before subdividing for El Rancho Village. The name Smoot Hole came from aborted effort of Joe Smoot and Anita Baldwin to get race track built in about this location.
View up Oakwood Avenue from Sierra Madre Blvd. following a snowfall. Note Santa Anita Ave. on the left marked by eucalyptus trees. Snow in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Vineyards on Baldwin Ranch. View is north from a point of present Huntington Drive. Chantry Flats Road is visible at right edge of photo. San Gabriel Mountains form background.
Mission bell from San Gabriel Mission hanging in rustic shelter built for it. Just how Baldwin acquired this bell is unclear. It was returned to the Mission in the 1930's. This is another of the Baldwin playing cards.
View east shows two balloons aloft over Arcadia and San Gabriel Valley. It is possible that first river up from bottom of photo is Rio Hondo Wash. Some of trees along Santa Anita appear to be in extreme lower right of photo. Tree-lined street showing in extreme lower left of photo is Duarte Road. Second river coming into photo about five inches up from bottom of photo would be San Gabriel River.
