The Queen's Float in the parade marking Arcadia's 36th birthday. The float is seen on Santa Anita Avenue across from present golf course. Boy on bicycle is not identified, nor are the Queen and her "court" despite searching newspapers for this period.

Wendell Chapman is seen on horseback with a battery operated radio. He was a member of the Civil Defense Amateur Radio Operators group that was assisting with communication in cases of emergency, such as floods, etc.

Ray Ramuz (on tricycle) with his mother Hazel at entrance to the family nursery at 404 S. Santa Anita Ave. Ray is the present (1980) owner of the facility, which became Arcadia Nursery about 1929. Son Ron is currently a partner with his father and will carry on the business.

"On the Air," a combined Arcadia-Monrovia float entry in the 1940 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, featured a floral radio. Ten people rode on the float.
