New El Rancho Building, a 2-story store and office affair, located at 1200 W. Huntington Drive, is nearing completion, with occupancy expected in March. Rancho Santa Anita, Inc. are the owners of the new building. Architect is Rowland H. Crawford.
Construction in progress of the one-story Arcadia Police Department building at 250 W. Huntington Drive. Crane and pulley system help put up a wall while workers stand around. Name of company on the crane reads Heisler & Woods, Contractors, Crane Service, El Monte, CA. The name is clearer in photo #1825.
"El Camino Real," Arcadia's float entry in the 1967 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Father Serra, founder of historic California missions, is shown traveling the famed thoroughfare. Arcadia's Queen, Christine Ramos, graces the throne. The scroll is covered with yellow chysanthemums, gladioli, orchids and roses. A framed copy of this removed from wall outside Admin. office and currently stored in map case in basement, as of February 2017.
Bus transportation between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Arcadia approved. Six buses will leave the Flamingo Hotel daily. See hard copy of newspaper in Box 51.
In the lawsuit filed by El Monte against Arcadia, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge ruled that Arcadia acted properly in its decision to permit a storage facility in the southeast portion of the City.
The Hugo Reid Drive closure will have its final determination April 14. At present it is a one-way street as a result of fatal accidents some years back.
