House at 180 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, located just north of the municipal athletic field adjacent to Arcadia City Hall. It was part of the Le Meridien hotel land but is being sold Salvation Army and moving to Pasadena. In the year 2000 this was the location of Oakcrest Adult Rehabilitation Center. A house at 180 West Huntington Drive in Arcadia was raided and four men were arrested who were using binoculars to catch the race results and flashing them to bookmakers throughout the nation. Winners of the Bicycle Rodeo, an event sponsored by Arcadia Police Department and Arcadia Recreation Department, from left to right: Albert Schneider (winner boys 8-14 year old group), Bruce Frazier (winner boys 8 and under), Juanita Curti (winner girls 14 and under), Betsy Bosil (winner girls 8 and under). Pictured behind the children left to right are Police Chief William Orr and Patrolman William Goodman. The Bicycle Rodeo was a contest in bicycle safety and riding skill. Winners received nighttime riding lights and electric horns. The awards were the culmination of bicycle safety instruction offered at Arcadia playgrounds throughout the summer by William Goodman. A similar version of this photograph appeared in Arcadia Tribune, p. 6, August 23, 1956.

Santa Anita Park Race Track just right of center at south edge of photo. Oval to the left of Santa Anita Park Race Track was training track which was removed to make room for Santa Anita Fashion Park (currently Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall). Street just to left of training track is Baldwin Avenue. Huntington Drive and Colorado Place form a "y" just east of Santa Anita Park Race Track. Along both can be noticed the conifer trees planted a few years earlier. Street completely bisecting photo just below center is Foothill Boulevard, next one is Orange Grove Avenue. Charles Francis Earl is seen standing next to a tractor, holding his young son, William Earl. Behind the Earl's is the vacant lot Mr. Earl purchased in the mid 1930s when it was a hayfield. The vacant lot as seen in this photo is shortly before construction began on their home in late 1951 and early 1952. When constructed, the address was 1050 Paloma Drive. See also Photo #1634.
