Every 10 minutes, someone in Los Angeles County dies from the effects of COVID-19. Melody Stark of Monrovia is shown in photo displaying a photo of her husband Dr. William Stark who was a resident of Huntington Drive Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arcadia. He died on November 22, 2020. Since March, 2020, 10,056 people have died from the coronavirus.

Fans commiserate in closing of their beloved bookstore. 78-year-old Karen Kropp, owner of The Book Rack, a bookstore in Arcadia, has closed the store on First Avenue, after taking over the reins 18 years ago. Declining sales worseneed by the pandemic, as well as her upcoming 80th birthday, precipitated the closure. The store's address was 204 South First Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006.

Decorated vet to celebrate 100th birthday. U.S. Air Force vetean Edward Lopez was a fighter pilot in both World War II and the Korean War. Born in Los Angeles and living in Arcadia for more than 50 years, he is one of the last living members of the Air Force's 365th Fighter-Bomber Group known as The Hell Hawks, a reserve fighter squadron in the U.S. Marine Corps. The event raised $241,000 for the education programs and care of the 125 acre Arboretum gardens and landmark structures.
