Arcadia Fire Department snorkel truck is parked close to entrance to First Avenue Junior High School following a major fire that hit the school. Seven firemen are seen in their gear, talking together.
Truck drives in Diamond Jubilee Parade carrying members of Kiowas (women's service club at the High School) and also members of Senior Mens (the men's service club at High School).

About 12 girls in white are seen walking across the lawn at front of First Avenue School (Arcadia Grammar School at this time, 1935). They have garlands of flowers over their shoulders to commemorate their graduation from 8th grade. Photo is also interesting because construction scaffolding is across front of school.

Apparently taken in the High School gymnasium which has been decorated for special event. Many students are seated at tables, for what probably was a dinner following graduation.
Four wheel drive truck with Cunningham winch used to get balloon aloft and back down and to keep them anchored. One truck for each balloon and had 1500 meters of heavy cable. Tires of truck were solid rubber. Note: ground line coming from truck near winch. This was to take care of static electricity generated along cable due to telephone in balloon.
