On behalf of the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency, Mayor Gilb accepted a check for $250,000 from Hometel of America Corporation. This is the first of several payments toward the purchase of the property at the northeast corner of Second Ave. and Huntington Dr.
Arcadian Roger S. Stevens, a flutist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 30 years, is a professor of music at USC. As owner and pilot of a Cessna 182, Stevens frequently flies himself and his wife, Dr. Margaret M. Stevens, minister of the Santa Anita Church, to classes and speaking engagements in other areas.

Don and Pat Wilsterman of Arcadia were shocked to discover evidence of coyotes on their Naomi Ave property. Coyotes and other wild animals are not unusual in foothill areas.
