Drive-In Liquor closed its doors to make way for a mini-mall. When the mall opens next year, the liquor store will be among the 7 new shops at the corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue.
A new computer, scheduled to begin operating by January 1, will store information about reported traffic accidents and citations. The computer will be used to analyze traffic problems in the city.
A call for comments on the proposed Downtown Revitalization Plan brought several suggestions and a few complaints at the Arcadia Planning Commission meeting.
A moratorium on new liquor store construction has been extended. The original moratorium would have run out before the August 2 date set for a public hearing before City Council.
A moratorium on stores selling liquor in Arcadia within 150 feet of residential zones has been imposed by the City Council. During the moratorium, the city will be studying whether to impose conditional use permit reviews on such stores due to noise, litter, and loitering problems they tend to create.

New El Rancho Building, a 2-story store and office affair, located at 1200 W. Huntington Drive, is nearing completion, with occupancy expected in March. Rancho Santa Anita, Inc. are the owners of the new building. Architect is Rowland H. Crawford.
The Arcadia Police Department is investigating Falcon Management at 411 E. Huntington Drive following repeated shut downs by regulators and customer complaints.
Complaints about Group W, the Westinghouse subsidiary that bought out Teleprompter and theoretically is supplying cable television to northern part of Arcadia by City Council.
Inter-racial problems at Arcadia High School are not as bad as they have been made out to be, according to 2 Associated Student Body officers, but the problems there are, they said, can be blamed on both Asians and Caucasians.
