They include a solid gold horseshoe, pure gold nuggets, one of Baldwin's first watches, satin slippers and kid gloves.

Baldwin Coach Barn -- Built in 1880, this barn housed Lucky Baldwin's carriage horses in stalls of redwood and cedar, with elaborate ironwork. It was restored in 1958 and still stands in the Arboretum.

A statue to honor Anita M. Baldwin, daughter of Arcadia's founder Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin, will be built at the new Le Meridien Hotel, a luxury hotel in Arcadia. The artist/sculptor is Alfred Paredes, who also created the Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin statue.

Article erroneously states that she is the granddaughter of Elias J. Baldwin. In her proposal to the City of Arcadia, she states that she is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Baldwin.

Unveiling of Anita May Baldwin statue brings peace and beauty. Anita May Baldwin was dedicated down the road from the statue of her father, Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin. The statue was unveiled yesterday at the official grand opening of the Le Meridien Hotel on Huntington Drive in Arcadia. The statue is called "A Legacy of Charity," made by artist Alfred Paredes.

The history of the peafowl from Indian and Java that live in Arcadia is presented. Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin imported three pairs from India in the 1880s. His daughter Anita Baldwin added some birds from Java. The peacock is official bird of Arcadia, is protected, and should not be fed. See also VF "Peacocks" for copy of article.
