Arcadia's First City Hall -- Erected on the northwest corner of Huntington Drive and First Avenue. It was a two-story colonial-style building designed by architect Xavier Lourdou. Dedicated on July 13, 1918, it served as Arcadia's seat of municipal government until 1948. It was torn down in 1950.

Monrovia "Planet" Building -- The Monrovia Townsite Committee offered E.L. Buck the landsite if he would start a newspaper. Buck built this structure on East Lemon, between Myrtle and Ivy Avenues; he used the first floor as a publishing plant and lived upstairs. Oakwood Hotel -- Entrance to Fairy Land. Construction of Lucky Baldwin's Oakwood Hotel began in June of 1887 on the southwest corner of First Avenue and Santa Clara Street, across the tracks from the Santa Anita Depot. When completed, the two-story brick building contained 35 rooms with verandas running around both floors. In 1903 it became the first City Government headquarters, and later was the area's sporting center. It was destroyed by fire on November 26, 1911.
