As part of Arcadia's 2003 centennial celebration, each council member has served as mayor for a three-month period of time. Mickey Segal will lead the city for the last three months until after the April 13 City Council election.

Plans for the Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association to revive its Rose float have fizzled for now because there is no room for another float in the year 2000 parade.
Arcadia officially unveiled the design for its city centennial float last week. Designed by Phoenix Builders, it features the Queen Anne Cottage, the wishing well fountain from Santa Anita, and a giant peacock. It cost $100,000. A list of float riders is included.
Army Captain Jon Schafer was among those chosen to ride the City of Arcadia entry in the 2003 Tournament of Roses Parade. Others are to be named later.
Arcadia's Ken Burrows will serve as president for the 1999-2000 Tournament of Roses year. Burrows announced "Celebration 2000: Visions of the Future" as the theme for the 111th Rose Parade.
City Councilman, Gary Kovacic, is asking locals to write about memories of Arcadia. The collection of essays will be published in a book titled "Visions of Arcadia: A Centennial Anthology."
An 82-year tradition ended Monday when the Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association announced it will disband and not enter a float in the next Pasadena Rose Parade.
Arcadia badges pay tribute to history. Arcadia Police Department employees will wear old-fashioned badges made to look like those that local lawmen pinned to their uniforms 100 years ago. The special Centennial badge will be worn during 2003.

Locals are invited to document "A Day in the Life of Arcadia," by shooting pictures that reflect life in Arcadia. Photos will be part of an exhibit at the Arcadia Historical Museum to celebrate the city's centennial.
The 380-member Apache Marching Band, under the direction of Tom Landes and its 62-member color guard, will march in the 2003 Tournament of Roses Parade.
