Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin is named a financier of the Big Bear valley region. He was well known in the Big Bear valley soon after the gold strike of Holcomb. He not only operated Gold Mountain mine, but did extensive prospecting and development work in Van Dusen canyon in an effort to get a water supply which could be used at the mine. Page 8.
