The Great Scot Restaurant built in Arcadia at 100 N. Santa Anita Avenue. It opened in March,1972. Beyond the restaurant the Towne Center Building of about 6 stories can be seen. It is at 150 N. Santa Anita Avenue.
The windmill will stay as part of the redesign of Denny's at the corner of Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive. The windmill was originally built for a Van de Kamp's coffee shop in 1967.
The Westerner Restaurant has been granted a temporary permit allowing patrons to dance on the premises. The temporary permit is valid until an ordinance can be formally enacted. Until this action was taken, public dancing was allowed only at the Santa Anita Turf Club.
The dancing permit granted to the Westerner has been causing headaches. Residents adjacent to the restaurant have been complaining of noise and spillover parking. The City Council has extended the permit only until the next regular meeting on January 7, 1975.
Bennigan's Restaurant, part of the Southside Development between Second and Fifth streets on East Huntington Drive, is preparing for an expected July 4th opening.
The Derby (Restaurant and Tavern) taken from south side of Huntington. An arched gate leads into restaurant area which is shaded by two large oak trees. Numerous cars are parked around it. Sign proclaims: "Sandwiches, Chicken-Steak Dinners. Dinners 75 cents".
Arcadia Denny's at northeast corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue to restore collapsed windmill. The building's original occupant was Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery. The windmill had been previously restored and reactivated on June 29, 2016. About $100,000 was spent refurbishing it at that time.
View north east across Huntington Drive to Carpenter's Santa Anitan, a drive-in restaurant located at 125 W. Huntington Drive. It opened on Nov. 11, 1939 and remained a popular eating and gathering place for many years.

Shrimp and crab-stuffed salmon at The Derby, 233 E. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, is recommended and the restaurant's menu and reputation are also described.
An application to construct a Burger King Restaurant on South Santa Anita Avenue at Alice Street was turned down by the Arcadia Planning Commission on a 4-1 vote. Commission members said they were concerned with noise and traffic problems. Residents also objected to the possibility that students from Arcadia High would congregate and make noise at the restaurant following evening sporting events.
