Ruth Gilb elected president of Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association. Mrs. Gilb took over from Craig Lucas as the newly elected president for the year 1983-84.
Arcadia resident Linda Baum will serve as the Grand Marshall for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses equestrian unit. Baum will ride her 17-year-old pinto, Royal Warrior.
Jean Voznick, president of the Arcadia Teachers Association, presented the teachers' case to the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce. Some of her statements were later rebutted by Superintendent Ed Ryan.
Rebecca "Becky" Denney, was named Miss Arcadia 1981 by the Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association. She will represent Arcadia in the January 1981 Pasadena Rose Parade.
The Santa Anita Oaks Homeowners Association works closely with Gary Dorn whose late father Raymond Dorn was named agent in the deed allowing subdivision of the area. Article discussed deed restrictions on development that do not expire until 1985.
The Arcadia Board of Education swore in newly elected member Joann Steinmeier and re-elected member Mary Dougherty at an organizational meeting. Dougherty was also elected president as the board selected its new officers.
