The Arcadia High School tennis season has been perfect, and the 18-0 Apaches hope to keep it that way when the CIF Southern Section Division II team playoffs begin.
Fifty marching bands, drill teams, color guards and auxiliary units will take part in the 49th annual Festival of Bands hosted by the Arcadia High School Apache Marching Band. The competition will be on Saturday, November 16th.
Due to heavy smoke from the Williams Fire in the Angeles National Forest, schedules at schools were cut back including the postponement of the tennis and water polo matches at Arcadia High School.
Fifteen year old Omar Elmasri, a junior on the Arcadia High School soccer team, played an exceptional game against the Pasadena Bulldogs, scoring three goals.
The top ten San Gabriel Valley high school baseball teams will compete in the Arcadia Elks Tournament starting tomorrow. The top ten includes teams from Arcadia High School, Alhambra High School, Monrovia High School, Maranatha High School, St. Francis High School, Temple City High School, Gabrielino High School, San Marino High School, South Pasadena High School, and La Canada High School. Members of the Arcadia High School Marching Band earned money by blowing up balloons for the Democratic National Convention at Staples Center. The money will pay for a trip later this year to the Gator Bowl in Florida.
