The official song for the 2nd annual Peach Blossom Festival, "When it's Peach Blossom Time in Arcadia," is now being sold at local music stores. Published by Hortense Seymour, the Betty Graeme tune is selling for 50 cents per copy.
The Arcadia Public Library announced the addition to its collection of "Come Fill the Cup," the latest work of Harlan Ware, the well known author, resident of Arcadia.

There has been some hassle over the lack of restroom facilities at Fashion Park. The City Council would like to see 2 restrooms on each level open at all times. Stores make their restrooms available, but some events take place when the stores are closed.

Peach Tree Park chosen as city's war memorial site. "Peppermint candy" peach trees will be planted on a 30 x 300 strip of land parallel to the rear of the City Hall in a tiny park to commemorate Arcadia youths who lost their lives in World War II.
Some teachers began picketing in front of the district offices. At issue were charges of stalling on negotiations and the 1% increase offer by the School Board which the teachers called "an insult." Superintendent Ed Ryan said that if the two unions had been able to get together on their demands the problem might have been resolved by now.
