Jerry Barshay was chosen to replace Dr. Richard Cordano as Principal of Arcadia High School. Barshay is a native Californian and has been an educator in the public schools for 18 years. He served most recently as vice principal of the Torrance School District.
Dr. Robert E. Kladifko, Arcadia resident for 12 years, has been named principal at Horace Mann Junior High School in Los Angeles. Kladifko has been active in local affairs for a number of years. Biographical notes included.
Dr. Richard Cordano, Principal of Arcadia High School, has announced that he will take an early retirement effective June 30, 1985. Cordano first came to Arcadia High in 1964 from John Muir High School in Pasadena.
New school principals have been appointed by the Arcadia Unified School District. Susan MacNab will succeed Paul Mundy at Hugo Reid; William Robertson will succeed Charles Jarboe at Camino Grove; John Bogut at Arcadia Continuation succeeding John Simmons; Mark Vetter, English teacher at Arcadia High School, has been appointed assistant principal, Curriculum and Guidance at the high school.
Dr. Suzanne Keavney, principal of Foothills Junior High School, has been nominated by the Arcadia PTA for the National PTA's Phoebe Apperson Hearst Outstanding Educator Award.
Ernie Harrington, principal of Santa Anita Elementary School has retired. He joined the district staff in 1950 as a fourth grade teacher. Santa Anita School will not be opening in the fall.

David Vannasdall, 38, formerly the principal of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, has been hired as principal of Arcadia High School. Superintendent Mimi Hennessy and union are at odds over the process.
