The City Council approved final architectural plans for a new $2.6 million fire station to be built by March 1994 at the corner of Baldwin Avenue and Huntington Drive.
The City Council approved preliminary plans Tuesday for a nearly $2.7 million fire station that will replace the city's fire station No. 2 at the northeast corner of Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue.

The Arcadia Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously to begin condemnation proceedings of a property at 156 Santa Clara Street. The agency wants to claim the land for retail stores and office buildings. Eminent domain proceedings were begun since the city and the owners of the property have not been able to agree on the value of the property.
Construction crews began digging up streets and sidewalks along Huntington Drive in June for the City's Downtown 2000 Renovation Project. Traffic jams, frustrated customers and declining sales have been the result.
Two men suspected of robbing the California State Bank on Huntington Drive on February 5th have been arrested. Roosevelt Davis of Duarte and Steven Wesley Berry of Ontario are being held in the Arcadia City Jail.
Baldwin Stocker Elementary School opened its Baldwin Stocker Information Center, complete with 16 Apple 2e computers and a computer encyclopedia stored on a single laser disc. Arcadia police arrested two Arcadia High School students 16, and 15, in connection with a December 11 racial incident in which a cross was burned and anti-Asian epithets were scrawled on the front yard of a home in the 200 block of Arbolada Drive. The two boys were booked for damaging property based on ethnic origin and were released to the custody of their parents.
