Retired Arcadia physician Edward Hayes died in a scuba diving accident Saturday as the result of drowning according to officials from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
Funeral services will be held today for Ernest Loebbecke, a founding chairman of Los Angeles United Way and a resident of Arcadia. He died of cancer Monday at the age of 87.
Arcadia resident Henry"Red" Austin, who helped start the private Highpoint Academy in Pasadena and worked as a dentist in Alhambra for more than 25 years, died Thursday at the age of 69.
Funeral services will be held for Richard A. Morris of Arcadia, who died early Tuesday of injuries sustained when his car swerved off the 210 Freeway Monday and hit a tree. He was 36.
Ronald Konoske, 58, a resident of an unincorporated county area south of Arcadia, died Monday of cancer. Konoske was head of a campaign alleging that a San Dimas based water utility caused the cancer in him and others.
Fordyce Johnson, a former Arcadia resident, died late last month at his home in San Diego from the complications of old age. The 93 year old was former chief of staff at Methodist Hospital.
Dennis A. Lojeski was tearfully remembered as friends and family gathered Sunday to dedicate a baseball field in Eisenhower Park to the former mayor and city councilman, who died in August at age 52.
