Mayor Floretta Lauber and other City Council members will go before the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to ask them to cut the County tax rate.

Arcadia Paramedics have been asked to assist in field training of paramedic trainees from PCC. The Fire Chief said that there is great reluctance to do so, but agreed that Arcadia Paramedics received their training from Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Fire Departments and should repay this service by helping new trainees.

The newest park in the Arcadia area is the Peck Road Water Conservation Park at Live Oak and Peck Road. There will be fishing in the spreading basin of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District. This is a Los Angeles County Regional Park. Supervisor Peter Schabarum was on hand for the opening on June 23, 1975.
John Grivich, head of the Arcadia Water Department for the past 26 years retired June 7. He is proud of the quality of Arcadia's water, its low rates, good equipment and the stable number of Department employees.
Report on the case of Fire Department member Richard Defer, who was originally awarded a sum of $11,000 in Worker's Compensation benefits as the result of a softball game injury. The Worker's Compensation Appeals Board overturned the decision as it was not a city-sponsored game.
The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Control, which has licensing responsibility in Arcadia, has increased its fees from $2.50 to $3.50 for spayed dogs and from $5.00 to $7.00 for non-spayed animals.

The City of Los Angeles plans to file a suit against Los Angeles County and welcomes other cities to join in a class action suit to force the County to tax residents of unincorporated areas directly for services provided. This would, in effect, lighten the burden on incorporated cities and residents.
