The general plan will be reviewed by the Planning Commission. The "central area" will be the focus of study. This area runs from the 210 Foothill freeway on the north to Duarte Road on the south and from the east city boundary to Santa Anita Avenue. It also includes the commercial section west of Santa Anita Avenue and north of Huntington Drive.

Arcadia High School held a drive and collected $800 toward a municipal auditorium. A non-profit corporation is being established and it will be the nucleus for an auditorium drive to begin in September 1977.
The Arcadia City Council agreed to continue its contract with Los Angeles County for animal control. In addition, Arcadia will remain in the 9 city consortium which does business with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.
New El Rancho Building, a 2-story store and office affair, located at 1200 W. Huntington Drive, is nearing completion, with occupancy expected in March. Rancho Santa Anita, Inc. are the owners of the new building. Architect is Rowland H. Crawford.
