Patsy Chang Kote, a live-in housekeeper, was arrested Monday at the Arcadia home of Ruth LeBerthon on suspicion of elder abuse and grand theft after she admitted tricking the 92 year old woman in her care into cashing pension checks and then taking the money.
An armed robbery Wednesday led to an all-night standoff with the police when the two suspects fled to an Arcadia home and held resident Pat Plumley hostage.

World War II pilot Walter "Pat" Hollywood, a longtime Arcadia resident, celebrated Veterans Day and his 90th birthday yesterday. He was born in Pasadena in 1919 and served as an Army C-46 Commando pilot during World War II. The Arcadia Police Department, along with several company agencies, is investigating the Pat Hillings Travel Agency in Arcadia, now owned by David Pressman. The alleged fraud reportedly involved the sale of airline tickets by the agency.
