Arcadia High School requests move to Rio Hondo League, although its first preference is to keep the Pacific League as is. The changes would go into effect for the 2014-2015 school year. Arcadia High School's request to leave Pacific League is contingent upon Crescenta Valley High School joining the Rio Hondo League, which is currently made up of Blair, La Canada, Monrovia, San Marino, South Pasadena, and Temple City High Schools. The Pacific League is made up of Arcadia High School, Burbank, Burroughs, Crescenta Valley, Glendale, Hoover, Muir, and Pasadena.

Arcadia based Cub Scouts go Supernova. Four Scouts recently earned the highest accomplishment a Cub Scout can receive for science, technology, engineering and math. Gianni Carrano, Vincent Docimo, Ian Parsons and John Short, fifth graders at Holy Angels School in Arcadia and members of the school’s Cub Scout Pack 114, achieved the Supernova Award.
Matthews pro football family has roots in Arcadia. Howard Lynn Matthews' sons Clay Matthews Sr. had two songs Clay Jr. and Bruce Matthews. Bruce played for Arcadia High School. Clay Jr and Bruce both have two songs who played in the NFL.

Former Arcadia Police Department officer Christian Blesch gets 180 days in jail for pilfering more than $40,000 from the Arcadia Police Officers Association. He has paid back the amount stolen and resigned.
